My poor iphone 4s is sick. The battery is swelling and pushing the back cover out. It's so bad I can't take a photo without needing to force the cover down to get rid of most of the black halo and can push the tip of my finger inside the case.

-Q: I am looking into batteries but having a difficult time (being an old model and such). I came across these. Are they the same exact battery just different brand?

I need the kit so I'm leaning toward the ebay item but it doesn't list model compatibility. The batteries look the same but I need to be sure before I spend my money.

-Q2: Are there vids or tutorials to follow to show how to open a phone in such a state?

    Thanks all!

I do not know, but you can purchase one from the reputable iFixit website.

I have and use two 4s I phones and they needed new batteries, bought them from Amazon Germany with January 2018 production date not cheap and are working well after six months, US have i Fixit for spares, replacing 4/4s battery is quick and easy took me about 10 minutes, there are plenty of videos on YouTube, why throw it away because of bad battery?, good luck hope keep your 4s
