How can I revert my iPhone 4s iOS?

I would like to give this phone to a friend but first I have a question. To begin with, about a year or so ago I updated the IOS because the phone kept telling me that a new one was available................ BIG MISTAKE! I did not realize that the old processor would not be able to handle. (Apple does not tell people this and to my knowledge still doesn't). Is there any way to clear everything and start over? I am expecting a new iPhone se today. Thanks for the help!:huh:

Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. You'll be promoted to turn off Find My iPhone if it's enabled. Once the process is complete you'll be back to factory default. Keep in mind, this will not revert your iPhone back to a prior version of iOS. Unfortunately, you're stuck with whatever version is on there now.

In addition, keep at least 20% of the phone storage available. This helps not to constrain the system. Turn off animations.
