Can I fully use the health app on the iPhone 4S

I am trying to use the health app to track my walking without using a walking app. Can this be done using the 4S?

Unfortunately, this can't be done with the 4S. The step counting in the Health app occurs automatically for devices with a motion coprocessor. The iPhone 4S does not have this. Third party apps will be able to count steps for you and add them to the Health app.
