How long will Apple support the iPhone 4S?
If iOS 10, if it will be called that, gets released, will this device be able to get it?
It handles iOS 9 pretty well, I hope it gets the update.

Your guess is as good as ours. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

Well, I got 9.2.1 on mine today. They keep pushing the old lady and she seems to be able to take it quite well.

There's things you can do to help her run better.
To help your older device run better, here's some tips:
    1. Leave at least 20% of the storage capacity available. This helps to not constrain the system.
    2. Toggle on "reduce transparency" and "reduce motion".

Thx for that second tip Led....I would not have thought of it. Both now On.

On my 5s, I'll leave them Off, but worth bearing in mind for a distant future version of the OS when that phone also may begin to struggle.

    Reduce Transparency- General>Accessibility>Increase contrast.
Reduce motion is also under Accessibility.

I have a feeling the last version of iOS 9 will be the end of the line for the 4S.

Rumor is iOS 9 is the last for the 4s. IOS 10 will have requirements that only the 5 series and up can meet. But it should continue to work well on iOS 9.x.x.
