I am just curious how many of you will be updating to IOS 8? I personally am going to wait and let other play with it for a while. I am also loading up my phone as so I don't have enough memory free so that Apple can't take any personal inventive and do it themselves.

So, you are filling up your phone just because you don't want Apple to push the upgrade automatically?

How would Apple do that themselves? Unless they somehow have access to your phone. They're not forcing you to upgrade.

With iOS 7 not on release day but a little while later on, Apple auto downloaded the iOS 7 update. You still had to choose to install it.

I've decide not to update since I'm getting a new phone. Last year I went through the updating process only to get a new phone 2 days later. I can wait.

I'm hoping and planning on updating to iOS 8, but I'm currently jailbroken and rely on some jailbreak only apps so I obviously have to wait for there to be a jailbreak for iOS 8. I'm also a little worried about the performance on the iPhone 4S. Some people are saying it's just fine, and others are saying it's horrible. However, iOS 8 (and the first version of it at that) hasn't even been out for 24 hours, so it's still far too early to tell how it will actually run on our older devices. I have hopes that 8.0.1 or 8.1, whatever the next release will be, will run better than .0 release. So I'll probably wait for an update and for that update to be jailbroken before I take the plunge.

Unfortunately once you update on an Apple product, there's no way to go back.

I already did it. iOS8 on the 4S comes with a new modem firmware, updated trust store certificates and security fixes. These are enough reasons for me.
Its slightly slower now, but I can live with that.

What? An EMPLOYEE OF APPLE advised you to upgrade to the new flagship operating system they have available? Who knew?

Next thing you'll tell me is they advised you to upgrade to the new Iphone 6!!! Madness
