How do i transfer all from old iphone to new iphone ,

i have bought a new iphone 4s and would like to transfer all my pictures and contacts from my old to this new phone,

go easy, i really am a dummy when it come to this,
so i realise i may need to do it through laptop,

If your contacts are associated with an email account, simply configure the email account with your new device and enable syncing of your contacts. In regard to photos, you can enable photo stream and make sure your photos are in your stream so that they can sync to iCloud. Configure iCloud on your new device and enable photo stream to have your photos sync to it. Alternatively, you can back p your photos using iTunes or iCloud and then when prompted while setting up your new device, restore using the backup you made. You can also upload your photos to a cloud service and then download them to your new phone.
