I am with Verizon, and just bought a used 4S. I called Apple support to check on any remaining warranty. When the guy checked the serial number, he said that is showed as originating in the Nederlands, and that it was probably an unlocked phone. My question is how do I find out if it is unlocked? I would like to know, so that if I ever sell it, and advertise it as unlocked, it won't come back on me. I have a friend with T-Mobile. Could we check it with his sim card? I am completely dumb on this stuff. TIA!

The friend can try that Tmobile sim... it will either work... or not.

Thanks, Keith. Can he just put the sim in as is, or do I need to wipe the phone of my VZW info first?
