please help - can't activate iphone 4s

I bought my phone from a friend, it was from UK, Orange carrier. He gave it to me with Os 5.0 using a gevey sim so I can use it here in the Philippines.

My problem started when I updated software to 5.1.1. Once finished, it displays "No service", don't know what to do, I've restored my iphone to a new one. I even Erase Contents and Settings which I think made my phone deactivated.

The phone needs to be activated now and it says it can only be activated with a compatible sim. Is there any way I can activate my phone without it's carrier's sim?

Really frustrated now...

Asking a dumb question here, but is it unlocked? If it's still locked on Orange service, you won't be able to use a different SIM until it's unlocked.

This is the problem I have with Gevey SIM. I don't trust their unlock process. I only trust a factory unlocked SIM. As for the OP, looks like you need to go to Gevey and speak to them.
