how do you get emoticons that non iphone users can view?(not emoji)

is there a way to get emoticons on an iphone that for example a blackberry can view. i do not want emoji because i already have that i want text smiley emoticons. i there anyway to do this, or is there a possible jailbreak tweak for this?

Unfortunately those symbols are proprietary system-specific extensions and are not compatible with other non-BB OS-based systems.

The closest to a worldwide standard would be Emoji, although there's 3 different variants of those as well. iPhone implements the Softbank version. KDDI and DoCoMo have their own (incompatible) variants.

As of now, BlackBerrys and iPhones just don't talk nice to each other - maybe with BB 10!

Poop! That's one of the reasons I left the BB world. I haven't looked back since except to laugh and remember how frustrated I was...
