A group of my friends use iMessage as a group chat. 3 of us have iPhones and one of us has an iPad. The one with the iPad went and got an HTC Rezound so now we need a way for him to recieve the messages through his email if thats possible, even if he has to download a third party app, while the rest of us continue to use the regular messaging app.

iMessage is only available for iOS devices and for the Mac beta messaging client. If he wants to continue being in the iMessage chat, he will have to either use a Mac or an iOS device. No other options.

Nope you will all have to use one of the many third party apps or just email each other.

If you're all in America, try GroupMe. It's free in the iOS App Store. Your group is assigned a phone number and you text that number and it goes to all of your members. I'm in a GroupMe with about 10 other people and it works great.

You have the option to use the GM app and have it use your data or have the messages delivered via text which go against your text messaging plan, but if you're like me and have unlimited, it won't matter.
