I want to update my phone, but it won't update. If I try doing it over wifi, it says "Unable to Check for Update. An error occured while checking for a software update." Or when I don't get this error, it tells me that iOS 5.0 is up to date.
After that failed, I tried doing it with iTunes. iTunes says, after it downloads, that it can't update because my firmware is not compatible.
I have updated iTunes and am running on a stock 4s version 5.0 (9A334), I also tried turning off my av program.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

if memory serves... after you have downloaded the update (and it failed to update)... hold SHIFT as you click restore. I think it will let you pick the update file... then select the file you just downloaded.

if that still doesnt work... um.... apple store i guess.
