I placed my order through the Apple site early Friday AM. I got a confirmation from Apple, but no tracking or shipping info.

I ordered from Apple.com and my status is at "Preparing for Shipping"

No Tracking # yet though - probably won't get one until the driver shows up and scans the bar-code into their system tonight.

(Or tomorrow if they use USPS due to Columbus Day)

I have never heard of Apple using the US Postal Service for shipping. They use either UPS or FedEx.

FWIW, I got my UPS tracking number today, too. It show the phone is in China (Hong Kong) with a delivery date of "Friday 10/14/11, By End of Day".

I am not expecting it before Thursday at the earliest.

(I'm on AT&T, but ordered through the Apple website on Friday 10/7 at about 12:15 am, MST.)

I order from verizon at 2:54 got tracking confirmation email 2:59 got tracking info on Friday coming from USPS
