upgrading to os5 on new 4S

I plan to order the new 4S from Verizon tomorrow and have read that the expected delivery date is Oct 14. With the os5 being released on Oct 12, I'm assuming that I will have to install os5 when I get the phone, yes? Never having a iPhone before, I am unsure of how to do. Do I connect the phone to iTunes on my PC when I first get it and that will install os5?

Is there a sticky here that will guide newbies to iPhones on how to set it up out of the box?

No they will send it out on the 14th with the software out of the box no updates yet

Agree with all, iPhone4S comes with iOS5 out of box, the only way there would be an update is if a Jailbreak is released and Apple trys to patch it, then and only then would we be seeing a 5.1 in the very next week or month of release. So no updating necesary. Yet.

iOS 5.0 gold master was seeded on September 20th. They've been installing that version since probably that day or the day after. So no, no need to upgrade.
