So there is buzz going around that since Apple is touting the iPhone 4S as a world phone, that they will all be unlocked no matter what carrier you buy one from? What do you think?

Ah, well I figured that much but some are convinced...

Now I wonder too if there will be a factory unlocked sold at least. My guess would be no as well since it took almost a whole year for Apple to sell the iPhone 4 unlocked.

    Will be in certain countries.

Either outright at a steep price or with a plan in France and unlockable after three months in that plan.

The 16Gb unlocked 4S will be at 629 euros apparently.

So dosent that mean that it should come unlocked for those that want to buy the phone who travel a lot and NEED access to those bands?

    UPDATE:

Apple's site suggests unlocked iPhone 4S will be available | TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog

Rumor may be true according to wording on Apple's site. My factory unlocked iPhone 4 is a mere 2 weeks old, it may be time to take it back or exchange it for the 4S.
