I purchased the Verizon iPhone 4 in March.

When the iPhone 5 hardware is actually released (whenever that is), will iPhone 4 users still be able to get a free upgrade to the iOS5? If so, would it be OTA?

Apple always provides iOS upgrades to their phones for free provided the handset is able to run the OS. They have also in the past released feature crippled versions of the OS for older handsets that didn't support a new feature or were a bit slow (iPhone & iPhone 3G) ... So when iOS 5 is released you will be able to download it for free via iTunes. The exciting part IMO is that you will always be up to date with no real need to sync with iTunes via OTA updates and iCloud. iOS 5 is marvelous, just wait and see.

Point updates are OTA, but going from 5.0 to 5.1 or 5.2 will not be OTA.

Putting on my "snark hat" for a minute, isn't 5.0 > 5.1 a "point update"?

    Ha! 10.7 isn't a point update to OS X. But 10.7.1 will be. So 5.1 isn't a point update, but 5.0.1 is.
