    Hi,

    I have a lot of conversations on DM for instagram.
    If someone messages me with my phone on standby

    (just say it's Mary Appleseed sending a dm)

    It would come up usually as

    "Mar" or for Olivia "Oli" or even just "o"

    I need to fix this please

    Have you tried contacting the developers? Does it do the same thing on a friend's iPhone?

    Try uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it.
