All of the events disappeared from my iPhone 4 and now I cannot create a new event either. What should I do?

all of the events disappeared from my I phone 4 and now i cannot create a new event either.

I am not backed up so I am not surprised that I cannot retrieve my calendar but when I enter a new event and press done it is not there when I go back to check it.

is it possible that you somehow unchecked calendar in mail contacts calendar setting for that account?
