    1. Can iOS5 be jailbroken yet?

    2. Is there a version of iTunes available for Linux?

    1. ios5 can be jailbroken, there's a forum full of answers there. I believe there is an untethered version and the tethered version should be out soon.
    2. Don't have a clue Sorry

No version of iTunes for Linux. In fact, I have not found a way yet to transfer music to the iPhone from Ubuntu. It will happen soon, but not yet. Fortunately, iOS5 makes it so that the phone does not require a computer.

To clarify, iOS 5 can be jailbroken tethered right now but not on the iPhone 4S or iPad 2. Untethered is expected soon, and maybe on newer devices (4S, iPad 2) after that.

All right, well my main concern is with back up of apps+data. With Linux/Ubuntu I know there are at least a couple programs that allow transfer/sync of music with iPhone/iPod (from the Linux forums). But with iOS5 can you backup apps+data without iTunes?
