My friend lost his iPhone yesterday, he has it insured and is about to put the claim in. If he finds it tonight (it may be at a friends) will it be blocked and become unusable in this country (UK) before they send the new iPhone out?
So would the insurance company use his imei number to disable his phone totaly? As he has lots off stuff saved on there he would love to get back if he finds the phone.

If the IMEI number is blocked, the phone will not be able to be used as a phone, however the data on the device will still be available and it can still connect to wifi networks.

I have no idea if the insurance company will notify the carrier that the phone is lost however.
