Google shutting down Safari

I have a bit of a strange problem ..... every time I try to access google in Safari it completely shuts it down. No problems with any other search engine or any other site - just Google. Any ideas ????? Thanks !!! Kindra

options:

1)Try clearing out all history, cookies, caches and then try loading Google.

2)reinstall/update safari

3) download firefox

FireFox never seemed to play nice on my iMac. The latest update seems to have helped FF though. Rock Melt is a nice alternative. Very Google Chrome(ish). Facebook is HEAVILY integrated into it though, so YMMV.
