Music from itunes to iphone 4

When i attempt to transfer music from a playlist on itunes, I click on sync music and a screen comes up which says that I will transfer all the music in itunes to my iphone and I only want to transfer the playlist. When I try to click on individual playlist under sync music it will not allow me to check that box. What up???? Thanks in advance

Under the setting for your phone do you have the option to only sync checked items selected?

Yes and it won't let me select the playlist option. It wants to transfer everything to my phone. Thanks

You need to make sure you have unchecked manually manage music and video in your summary tab. You will get a message say ok and then go to your music tab and you should be able to select the tab that allows you to choose specific playlists.
