    Here's what is happening:

I "enabled" the automatic downloading of music on my iPhone via the cloud, meaning that if I purchased a song on iTunes via my computer, it would automatically download to my iPhone without having to hardwire connect to my computer.

The problem is that once new songs are automatically downloaded, ALL The other content on my iPhone's iPod gets deleted! Yes, all my music, podcasts, etc are GONE. The only way to get them back is to hard sync my phone to my computer.

I have since turned off the "automatic downloading" feature. But am I the only one having this issue?

iCloud and iOS 5 are still in the beta process, not everything is working fully yet. Be patient and hopefully as newer versions are released the glitches go away. For now i think backing up to your computer is the best way to keep your music in sync.
