9to5Mac is reporting that T-Mobile USA is now offering micro-SIM cards for the iPhone 4...

T-Mobile USA offers Micro SIM cards for iPhone 4 | 9to5Mac | Apple Intelligence

Does this mean that T-Mo will soon have the iPhone 4 or is this related to the pending AT&T/T-Mo merger? Or maybe something completely different.

I think so, it makes sense for Apple to have the iphone on all carriers. It should be interesting to see what happens post merger.

I think it has to do with the fact that Apple started selling unlocked iPhone 4's
    in their stores.

What's sad is that the average user probably isn't even aware of this. I had to
explain this to a friend of mine who uses T-Mobile and told me he wanted to buy
    one of them.

Yep... all many of them see is shiny bling... with no thought about compatibility and/or usability. And if you're right, T-Mo is feeding the unsuspecting "customers" the garbage - and treating them very badly by not telling them. On the other hand, caveat emptor.

i learned a while back that if i am ever in a situation where i am in EDGE service only to just put the device down. otherwise i'd end up throwing it as far as humanly possible, and that's not good

I had a friend who used to say "Dogs crawl under fences. Software crawls under Windows." I wonder what he'd have to say about this
