Battery issue

I'm having an issue with my girlfriend iPhone. She takes it off the charger at 6am, and with very little use it is shutting itself down by 10am. It's not an everyday problem, but it does happen often enough. What can be some causes of this? Is it maybe a bad battery? It should be in 3G or wifi all the time where she works. Should I take it to an apple store? Any help would be great.

Try to restore the iPhone with iTunes. If that doesn't work, make a appointment with the apple store near you.
