iPhone 4 is a 3GS???? What the WHAT??

Hi all,

I just wanted to know if anyone else's iPhone 4 shows up as an iPhone 3GS under iTunes and on Windows Explorer on Windows 7, or in the actual settings/about menu on the actual iPhone 4? I noticed this last year on Windows Vista, but just chalked it up to Vista being a gargantuan piece of crap. But ever since I got my new PC running Windows 7 (which I love), nothing changed. Both iTunes and Windows Explorer still recognizes the iPhone 4 as an iPhone 3GS. After checking out the actual phone itself, even it says iPhone 3GS on the About menu. Weird!

I guess it doesn't really matter in the big picture, as far as I know for syncing, etc, they both work the same, but is anyone else having this issue, and is it possible to get it to properly recognize?

Where did you purchase said device?

Are you sure that you are not looking at device's name? Double-click the name of your phone in iTunes and rename it, that's all. It was probably restored from 3GS backup.
