This happened about 5 minutes ago. I was sitting in class waiting for the bell to ring. It's my girlfriend's birthday and I wanted to take her to dinner tonight. I had $50 in my wallet just waiting to be spent, then suddenly I get called down to the office. I ran track this year so I was issued sweats and other equipment, but the bottom's to my sweats got STOLEN. I was expecting the fine to be about 10-15 dollars so I wasn't really worried. WRONG. My dumb *** coach said it cost $50 dollars!!! You see, if you have any outstanding fees or fines you can' walk the stage at graduation or participate in the end of the year senior field trip (that I already paid for). So my beautiful $50 had to go bye-bye on some **** that was way over priced. Now I have to go beg my parents for even more money and hope they show me some sympathy. The moral of this story is that life's a *****... and so are coaches.

Craziest thing I ever expensed? Several years ago, when I was working for Avon Products as a Help Desk Analyst, we had a fierce snowstorm and so Avon paid for us to stay at a really nice golf resort called Doral Arrowwood in Purchase, NY. I worked very hard at Avon and on 1 of the 2 nights that I stayed at Arrowwood, I decided to treat myself to a fancy dinner at their really expensive restaurant. The food, the service, everything at this restaurant at Arrowwood was top notch, and my bill for just myself (I ate alone that night) came out to like $70.00. Well, again, I felt like I deserved a really nice, delicious dinner for all my hard work, and so I expensed it using my Avon corporate credit card, providing the receipt in my expense report. I submitted the expense report and luckily no one questioned me about it. I don't think I ever expensed a dinner for 1 person that was that high.

The craziest thing I've ever put on my expense record was $90 in quirky erasers.

It was my anniversary with my girlfriend of 2 years and I know she just loves those tiny Japanese erasers that are shaped like different things (sushi, animals, genitalia) so I went to get her a few.

I went to one of those thrift gift shops (it was Aahs in Los Angeles) and I picked a few, then after a while I realized that I couldn't resist and I found that I had a mound of hundreds. I went up to the cash register and found out I would be spending $90... on erasers.

i had a friend that used to work as a procurer (spelling?) for a spanish network tv station and part of his job was to take prospective clients out. Well he had a prospective female client who he took out on the town. Well part of the day was spent with her getting a brazilian wax for that night. He put it down on his expense report as "customer relations"..lol..

I did expense airport vending machines and one time for a massage. Co-worker expensed 200 dollar leather boots for "client interactions" in Texas.

About 10 years ago I expensed a new phone because I left mine on the roof of my car and drove off.
