Adding sender to contacts????

One cool feature on my old Blackberry was the ability to "add to contacts" if I got an email or txt from someone not in my contact list. If I got a txt for instance, that was from someone not in my contact list I could click on the menu button and select add to contacts and a contact record would pop up with the # pre-populated and I could add the name I wanted and save.

So far.... I haven't figured out how to do this on my iPhone -- I have to remember the number, or write it down, then go to contacts, add a new one, and type it all in. Same with emails...

Is there a way to do this I haven't found????

at the top of the conversation (scroll to the top of the text conversation window) there is the option to add to contacts, also the option to call that person.
