Does anyone know what data service the iPhone uses when the phone is connected to a wifi network and you're in a call? EDGE or 3G?

Unless you're sending MMS and then it would be either 3G or EDGE depending on your location if it was 3G or not

Whichever cellular network you are connected to *behind* the wifi is what you will use in-call

Yes, this is what the phone would use for the call transmission, but it would use WiFi for any data transmission.

Think of the Verizon iPhone, it can do data and voice at the same time only when on WiFi, ergo, it uses WiFi when you are on a call.

Definitely when you are in call, wifi is used... also according to the location it differs !! 3G will be used in most of the regions i think..

Data is Wi-Fi, MMS is 3G or Edge depending where you're at.
