We still can't order an iPhone. :(
When are you permitted to?
how much of a discount do you guys get? must be steep if they dont want you to get one
Just walk into apple and buy one, unless you are waiting to get some discount or something.
It's not that Verizon employees cannot purchase them, they cannot activate them on their demo lines.
Walking into Apple and purchasing one won't help in this case, sadly.
That sucks.
Idk why they wont let you buy one its not like there is a super high demand for them they have plenty in stock.
Ain't that the truth. I understand on launch day and what not but I am sure everyone that wanted one already has one.
Don't understand VW.
I totally agree.
Wish I knew when, but they will let us know when we can. Which will be the day of.
So if you got one before they told you it was okay, would you get fired?
Getting one isn't the problem.. Sure, it can be purchased full retail with no problems.
VZW isn't letting employees activate them on demo lines. Which I mean, the system won't let the activations go through..
when the 5 comes out. lol But seriously that does blow. Everybody has them in stock so cant see why they wont let you guys buy them.
Ahh okay, I gotcha.
Do you guys even get discounts?
They can get service at a significant discount, 1 year contracts; and equipment at 2 yr. contract pricing. In exchange for that, they have to put up with limitations at times as to what equipment is available to them.
They may also have their accounts treated as traditional retail customers, and get no discounts...
Me neither. D@mn them and their excellent coverage.
What is this? I don't even..
The silly thing about that, particularly at this point, is if a Verizon Wireless employee carries one around, it's a good part of marketing.
Can I ask you a question as a Verizon Wireless Employee? Why does there seem to be so much miscommunication amongst reps when it comes to information? Get one answer from 1 and a completely different answer from another to the same question. The iPhone pre-launch was a perfect example of this
that's rough!!
Why do they do that??
Because the the sales force is the bottom of the food chain so to speak. I don't mean that in a negative way towards any Verizon employees. What I mean is, the sales force isn't privy to a lot of the information, because Verizon doesn't trust them with any info they don't want leaked. So the poor sales guys are given information at the last minute to prevent it from getting out early. Perfect example, Verizon employees were required to take iPhone training. The training started a few days AFTER I (and many others) had already received our phones in the mail Monday morning. In order to keep everything a big secret, they couldn't train their people until after the item they needed training on was already in customer hands.
Personally, I think Verizon does a decent job, but they could prepare the sales people better.
(I do NOT work for VW. But let's just say I have inside info.)
I could see Verizon not wanting their employees not wanting to buy up all the iphones, and have the reps using them if the stock is low, or limited, but that isn't the case anywhere around here. I have walked in to a few Verizon stores on different days since launch, and everysingle one had them on hand, and in stock. What I am thinking is they probably set a date before the release thinking they were going to sell out, and are just sticking to it.
Yeah it stinks- I have wanted one for years... My thought is they will release it to employees soon. Its ultimately a small price to pay to be able to upgrade so often and the reduced prices on service. Of course in a month from now I still don't have it I may not be so level headed
A little off topic but a few day after the iPhone 4 launch on AT&T I went into my local AT&T store to order one for my wife. I commented on how I was surprised that the rep didn't have an iPhone. He replied that he likes Blackberrys more so he going to keep that. A few week later, I went back to the same store to return her iPhone (can't get AT&T reception at her work) and we ended up having the same rep only this time he had an iPhone. Knowing that he wouldn't have remembered our conversation I asked how he liked the iPhone and he couldn't stop raving about it.
I bet that AT&T had a similar policy in place and that is why he didn't have one then and only said what he said so he could justify why he didn't have the phone without looking bad.
you are Verizon employees and still can't order? OH, bad!
Hmm, Im curious how much of a discount do you guys get? :D
nothing on the phones- only on the service
Minor clarification. The CAN order one. They just can't activate them at their discounted rate. Which is still bogus. I think VW planned on the iPhones being in short order. Had they not opened up the pre-orders, they may have been right.
Apple does not allow discounts on their products employee or not.
Not true... Depending on the item, I can get a 3-8% discount on nearly any Apple device... saved 8% on my MacBook Pro... 6% on my Time Capsule... 8% on my iPod Touch... and I'm not even an employee... but my company DOES have a connection for employee discounts through many companies, including Apple.
Some items don't offer discounts during the initial launch phase (strangely, Apple DID offer a discount on 2 gen AppleTV for a week or so, but last time I bought one, there was no discount)... and currently nothing on the iPhone4... but there's a discount in the 6% range on the iPhone3GS...
All of my friends that work for VZW have AT&T iPhone 4s already or just have regular VZW customer account so they can get the phone of their choice. With the unlimited to ANY mobile in the south for Verizon and nationwide on AT&T, the VZW employee discount is no biggee anymore.:D
So basically you are saying they are giving up a 50% off discount on service and the ability to upgrade to a new phone at 2 year pricing every 10 months so they can get an iphone a few weeks earlier then the rest of the employees... ok...
As a student I get $50-200 off computers, accessories, and other items. I also can get a free iPod touch if I purchase a new computer in the Summer. I did this two years ago to get my first MacBook pro and will do it again this Summer to get a new MacBook Pro.
I can see VW making employees wait a month or two, but I don't for see them making us wait until the iPhone 5 comes out! For they will want to get rid of the iPhone 4! My wonderful iPhone 4 is sitting in its box, just waiting for the day I can turn it on on my employee line! I totally understand that VW wants the costumers to be ablt to buy it, but I think most people are waiting for the iPhone 5!
I would really just like to play with my phone!!! lol
2 months?
i cant wait that long
Me neither... I am twitching after 2 weeks...
We cant have an iPhone on an employee account. Theres nothing stopping you from getting one if you are still on a personal plan. You just cant show it off in-store. We never receive discounts on equipment. Our discount is on the plan only.
Not everyone. The iPhone is still a high demand product and they just want to make the custmoers who have been waiting for years for the Verizon iPhone to come out to get one in their hands.
as for discounts. I know when I worked for Target we had the 10% employee discount that can be used on apple products we sold in the stores, but we also had a discount though apple. There is a website on Apple.com that we went to to get discounts on apple products, including macs, ipods, ipads (though iPads were added to the EPP discount about three months ago) but the iPhone was not part of that discount program, though accessories were.
My dad works for verizon and he was ready for an upgrade but was told he couldn't get an iPhone 4 yet because they want to have them for the customers first. Stupid.
Over The Counter Drug Recalls scfcsol com/]generic adipex Obese patients are often prescribed the appetite suppressant known as Adipex scfcsol com/ - buy adipex 37 5
Erm. Think of it this way. Lets say you wanted an iPhone 4, (your dad does not work for verizon, so you and him are just every day customers) but you were told they sold out and later you found out that the employee who greated you when you came in bought the last iPhone they had in stock, the very same one you could have had.
Now is it stupid?
Well, people think that "We" as Verizon employees can get these new phones at a great discount. Which is far from true. We get a very nice discount on our plan. I pay: 26.84 per month for 1500 minutes, unlimited data and text, 300 pic messages. Not to shabby. But we also have to pay full retail for our phones.
Owning my own shop, I also have to pay for my demo phones as well. VZW demands that I have live demo lines on Smartphones. So that is a pretty hefty cost as well.
My wonderful iPhone 16g in calling my name in its box on my table! Oh how I can't wait to turn you on my employee line, if & when we will be able to!!! Pretty please VW, can I turn my iPhone on?????? Lol
Has anyone heard when they may let us order and or activate? At least if I knew when it might make the waiting easier.
i feel how u feel
atleast give some kind of date or timetable
MARCH 15th!!! verizon employees can get iphones
Good for you!
I hope your not toying with my emotions, cause I may not be able to handle the disapointment!
check your email!
Yes its true!!!! I cant wait- the countdown begins. I dont know about you but I am so ordering at like 12:01am....
My cousin works for VZW and he's gonna be thrilled...good for y'all. Now..*jeopardy theme music begins playing*..jk
me toooooo
This is so exciting! Does anyone have any more info they can post or private message to me? I'm an Indirect Agent so I don't get the same official emails everyone else gets.
I'd appreciate ANY information. I've been waiting 3 and a half years for this :D
your Verizon Indirect Acct manager should be able to fill you in.
As a Verizon employee, I am very happy to know that I will soon have a Iphone.
I've contacted my Account Manager, and also her boss, and both of them say they've heard nothing about this. (I'm sure Indirect Account Managers don't get news as quickly as in-store managers.)
Grr. I'm starting to get frustrated. I don't want a day to go by eligible for an iPhone, without one!
Any more news from the weekend?
there is no additional information- they let us know when we can order it- Its still the 15th. Not sure what you are looking for but we are not going to post anything that is internal on an external site- My suggestion would be to call employee accounts and you can confirm the date. Good Luck
I've called them several times, and the most recent rep I talked with put me on hold while she spoke with her supervisor. She was very nice about it, but couldn't get a hold of anyone who knew a date.
Ugh, frustrated beyond belief...
and thats the difference between working for corporate and indirect. sucks to be indirect.
so excited! cannot wait until i can finally get that iphone! :)
When i bought my iphone, the employee said the 15th is when he can get the iphone.
Yes, this part of it definitely sucks. It's like we're second class to them. They get their products and services out there, without having to directly pay our wages and overhead.
I do enjoy working in a non-commissioned environment, but man... keep us in the loop if you want us to remain loyal!
my job would be much easier if indirect didnt exist. #imjustsayin lol
Lets not trash the Indirects!! I own 3 stores and I spend quite a bit of time cleaning up the mess that the local VZW Corp store causes. They do me a huge favor by opening their doors daily.
You walk into a corporate store, you are treated like a number. It works like a deli counter!! Get them in, get them out.
thats the american way!!! :)
HA. Exactly. I stopped in the Verizon Corporate store at my local mall about a week after the iPhone launched, just to see what cases and accessories they were offering. I witnessed a guy have to give his name and number to be put on a list just because he was looking for a dang car charger. It wasn't that the store was overly busy either.
I'm not sure about you guys, but if I wanted to wait in a queue for something minor, I would just go to my doctor's office.
ok but more importantly according to the countdown clock on my droid its only 5 days and two hours to go... taking into account daylight savings...
aaaahhhhh I CANT WAIT :) staying up late that night to order it <3
I will be calling and activate mine as soon as I wake up Tues! I have been playing with it on wifi, but can't wait to have it and use it all the time! I NEVER EVER thought I would want or have an iPhone, but after messing with one & having someone sit down and show me why its so awesome! I am hooked!!
Then that "American Way" is completely wrong. Whats wrong with being treated like you matter? Every one of my customers is treated with amazing service and respect. Ive been in business long enough to know my customers personally. I have 3 stores within minutes of the local corporate location and I have survived for almost 4 years.
We have customers who are willing to wait in our stores because we care about them. Which is much more than I can say for a customer in a corporate location.
I'm wondering if they're going to make us order from the website or from Direct Fulfill. As an indirect, I just got my first taste of Direct Fulfill when we sold out of 16GB iPhones a few days after release.
Also wondering if they're going to make us buy outright, or if we have an upgrade available, allow us to use that and just pay the $199/$299. So many questions, so few people who know the answers... haha.
I'm trying to decide whether I should use a family member's upgrade this weekend (on a regular consumer account) and have it activated via Concessions on my line first thing when I wake up on the 15th, or just wait and use my own upgrade (if allowed) when the actual date comes and just wait for it to come in the mail.
My Account Manager has mentioned nothing of this. I hope I don't have to go through her, because she's on vacation until late next week :(
Ok so I am trying but when I log in the iPhone is not an option listed. Also I went in as if I was getting new line as regular customer and it says they are temporarily unavailable. Wtf!! Anyone having luck?
I was having issues logging onto the site in general. When I log into my account (concession), I don't get to look at anything regarding my account info.
I was wondering if the site was updating to allow for us to upgrade, so I tried also signing into my dad's account (regular consumer), and I got a little further into the account, but I saw a bunch of "currently unavailable" messages on the screen.
Hmm... not sure what's going on, if they're performing regular website maintenance, or if we're getting lucky and going to be able to order soon.
Ahhh... can't wait
me too!!!
i guess they redoing the system so we can finally order them
Just placed my order online as a employee. Now the waiting part
How? I just checked. Still nothing?
Based on your time zone it was not available till 7AM EST 3/15
ok thats now- also where do you see that?
When you go into the list of phones, where you can select the one you want, you have to use the drop down at the top to sort by manufacturer and select iPhone.
I ordered mine this morning. Can't wait!
I tried that... It says they are temporarily out of stock or unavailable- when we called employee accounts they said that its a website issue and they are working on it- I am trying every 15 minutes at this point... Stupid question- what web browser are you using?
its not working for me either... has iphone greyed out still
Ok finally placed my order!!!! The waiting begins!
try it again- hubby just got through placing the order-
just ordered mine!
YES!!!!!
but boooo at them making us pay for overnight shipping :(
I don't go into work until 2:30. FedEx doesn't usually deliver to my house until 3-ish...I paid the $14.99 for Priority overnight so that I can have it tomorrow at work.
Question: What did your order # begin with? My co-worker's started 100, mine started 700. Only difference is that he billed to account and I paid with my credit card.
ordered mine at 4:25am pacific time =)
He didnt tell me i could pay for overnight... I gotta wait till thursday now
Got my iPhone turned on as soon as I woke up today! When I called and said I'd like to turn my iPhone on please! They lady was messing with me and said nope sorry you can't & we both just laughed! Have fun with your iPhone when you get it & turned on!
waiting for mine to ship still
Since I'm indirect (we get equipment every year for free, but only have a few devices to choose from) I had to use an upgrade from a family member's consumer account to get my iPhone. But, the good news is I was able to pick mine up today.
I've only had it active on my account for a few hours, but I can already tell it's going to be a huge step up (in my opinion) from Android OS.
Good luck to the rest of you, and enjoy your new phones!
they need to stop treating me worse than a customer (had to pay for overnight shipping lol) and hurry up and ship my phone already!!
hey all, i'm jstkdn's co-worker. jstkdn, another co-worker and myself got our shipment notices between 3-3:30 eastern today. it seemed to go in reverse ordering order, where jstkdn got his first much to my dismay ;-) I don't know about the West or NE warehouses but I think if you're South or MW you should have your notification by now if it shipped...
that blows. i ordered mine at 430am local time (730 est) and still havent gotten a notification lmao
I received my tracking# about 6EST .. will be here tomorrow by three. Im like a kid on Christmas :-)
just received my tracking number. shipped at 3:45 EST (12:45 local) will be here tomorrow by noon PST!
Mine is out for delivery...
mine was delivered to my store about an hour ago. ill be there in a few hours to pick it up =D
i agree!!!!!!
