Can I turn off the pop up box that comes up when I get a text?

I don't mean the message preview, I mean get rid if the box altogether and just leave the alert noise.

AFIK, No. Its the way iOS notifies you. I dont know if jailbreaking and using something like bytesms would give you more options, but it could.

Nope! Its been a problem since the first Iphone. If you jailbrake it there is a hack. Not worth it though.

I just jailbreak an use bite SMS. Works much better. Not sure why people say jailbreaking is not worth it. It's fast and easy. And if you have to return the phone just do a quick restore via iTunes and it removes the jailbreak. Using jailbreak you get the extra features you want and great customization. But to each their own. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Only reason I say that jailbraking isn't worth it, is that when I did it. Yea I could download programs for free, but the crashing, and lack of support didn't make it worth it for me. Ipad is still jailbroken. Games are great, for my Iphone, I'll stick to stock OS.

I know nothing about jailbreaking so unless it's easy I probably should give that a while before I do it!
