Phone volume

I've noticed that the ear piece volume, meaning when I talk and listen on the phone, is very low. However; when I put it on external speaker it is ok. How do I increase the volume in the ear piece? I have pressed the volume + key all the way while I'm having a conversation and it is still very low.

Which iPhone are you using? The iPhone 4's earpiece volume is actually pretty high.

I just purchased the Verizon phone, I believe is the 3.

Nope its a Iphone 4 .

I would bring it to a verizon store, they may not be able to replace it right away due to high demand but it sounds like something is wrong.
