I love mine as well. The only thing I miss is not being able to add a webmail account. My work uses OWA and doesn't have exchange. BB has this ability. Aside from that, leaps and bounds over my Storm and 8830.

Have you tried setting it up as exchange? I thought all OWA had an exchange beck end.

Well - let's start off with the bad:

It died. Seriously - went totally 100% tits up, kaput, nothing. Suddenly and without warning. Verizon store laughed and said "we've never seen this" and I told them I hadn't either. It had to have been a total fluke though. Replaced without issue and after hitting my Exchange server again then restoring through iTunes basically nothing missing. Morale to this story -(1) sync your phone often as backups are your friend. (2) the Cloud is really your friend and your data belongs there. ;o) Dropbox is a God send on this phone in many ways.

Now the good - it's better than my 3G was. The reception is awesome and I'm very, very happy with hardware and software. There are a few Blackberry things I miss (bedstand night mode with quiet except alarm in the morning, etc.) but those are far outweighed by the good. Battery life has not been as good as I expected initially but it's a new device and I'll reserve final judgment until after it's gone through a few charging cycles. Hopefully it'll improve after the 3rd & 4th time. I have been wailing on it in all fairness. Display, camera, total "slickness" and integration that I've come to expect and love from Apple, it's all there. Email is as slick as on my iPad and there have been no crashes. Battery pulls were all to frrequent on my Bold 9650. Don't even talk to me about that POS Droid Eris I suffered through for 6 months before literally throwing it out the window driving one day.

The one thing I HATE - you have to take gorgeous industrial design that Apple spent millions on and stick it inside a case because it's glass and that could break in a drop! :-(

Glad to be back in the fanboi camp. I know I bought too early (if 5 does come out in July for VZW as well) but couldn't wait so I'm happy for now!

Below are my impressions after having used the Verizon iPhone4 for a full 7 days.

As background, I switched from a Droid Incredible (had it since Launch Day, 4/2010) and am a big fan of the Android OS. I jailbroke my ViP4 to customize it as close to the way I had my Incredible set up.

    Verizon iPhone 4 Pros:
    1. GREAT reception/signal strength with the iPhone - There are numerous areas in my neighborhood where my Incredible had a very weak signal. The iPhone delivers clear calls that do not drop out. Calls also connect much faster to the network than the Inc.
    2. Battery Life - talking/texting/e-mailing for a full day is no prob.
    3. Beautiful design - it feels like a high-end, luxury watch
    4. FaceTime - works great, seamless operation
    5. Truly delivers the overall Apple experience - I have been a longtime user of MAC computers and love the little touches built-in to the iPhone. For instance, the "woosh" jet fighter tone that alerts you that an e-mail has been sent successfully.
    6. The sheer volume of apps - no contest vs. Android Market. Plus, the apps work seamlessly with the OS.

    Verizon iPhone4 Cons:
1.) I miss the haptic feedback (keys that vibrate when pressed) on my Incredible. It really helps when typing on a touch screen. There is a jailbreak app called "Haptic Pro," which I installed, but it's not the same as having it built-in from the factory.
2.) The iPhone is a bit heavier, ~0.6g heavier than the Inc.
3.) The iPhone's vibrate motor is weaker than the Inc.
4.) It may be a minor thing for most people, but I really like/miss the optical joystick on the Inc., it allows you to precisely navigate to the spot you want when typing/editing.
5.) Jailbreaking and downloading apps to customize the phone is time-consuming. Many of the notification options (custom ringtones, SMS alerts, e-mail tones) are easily customizable right out of the box with an Android phone.

These are just initial observations from someone who is a fan of the Android OS. However, I am leaning towards keeping my iPhone because the reception/signal strength is so much better (at least in my area) than my Inc.

I will continue to put the iPhone through its paces for 6 more days before deciding whether to keep or return. I really want to love it because of the seamless integration with my other Apple devices......

So far, I think this is really a great phone. I have been with Verizon since the days when they were US West Cellular thru Airtouch and think they have the greatest customer service available. My last phone was an HTC Eris and it was a fun smartphone to play with - good apps and OK speed. The only little issue I had with it was I COULDN'T MAKE A PHONE CALL!!! The dialer worked some of the time and the favorites worked rarely. I was really tempted to go back to my normal phone and throw that thing in a snowbank somewhere. Now - with my Iphone, I can have all the apps I want and actually use the device as intended - as a telephone. So, overall, I'm very happy with my new IPhone 4.

I got my ViP yesterday...a day earlier than I expected. So far I am thrilled!!! I have had consistent 3-4 bars where my Incredible would have none. It is a bit heavier than the Incredible, but I find it easier to hold because of the thickness. And so far the battery use blows the Incredible out of the water.

Coming from a Droid Fascinate, they seem to do the exact same things that I need!! But now, I dont have to open other programs to move media from iTunes to Droid. So that is a huge bonus. I do miss the Android Market, but Im adapting to the App Store and iTunes nicely. I love how I can mirror all my apps on my iphone4 and my ipad. And using talkatone means I can still keep my GTalk friends. Like I never left Droid. I rather like using talkatone and GV Connect on my ipad to make phonecalls as well.

I find I am charging the iphone a bit more frequently than my Fascinate, but Im sure that has to do with me flipping through the App Store and Netflix...lol Best investment Ive made so far? A powermat. Hassle-Free charging!! Slide in powermat case, drop on mat and forget it!! Found it on clearance @ Bed Bath and Beyond of all things!!

With all things now being Apple in my world....I can finally say "The Circle is Now Complete"!!

I have had three BB the last one was the 9530 which was getting old.

The Iphone.. It's a nice feeling phone and calls are always good on verizon.

What I don't like and miss very much is my berry buzz and the capability to customize.. Berry Buzz is the biggy for me not having a led light. Strange also having only one button , it was much easier to go back and forth on the BB. The battery life is good but so was the 9530. I was thinking about bringing it back and getting the Thunderbolt next week which sounds and looks like an awesome phone, but I will probaly wait for the LTE version of the Iphone at this time.

I've had BB's as the only smartphone I've owned. Made the switch from the 9650 Bold to my new iphone 4. While I miss the push, the iphone is hands down the coolest thing I've owned. Now I know what all the hype was about.

Hi I'm Genna DeLeon from Tech News on GDTV on youtube.com its a new segment on my channel as I am a technology buff I am interested in getting peoples opinions on the new Verizon iPhone. In recent news the iPhone has not been selling as many copies as expected so my questions to you are

    1. Are you happy with your iPhone on verizon even with its lack of features that you can get on AT&T

    2. Was it worth the purchase or do you think you should have waited for the update?

Yes I'm happy I would trade surfing and data at the same for the call quality that Verizon delivers.

    2. Was it worth the purchase or do you think you should have waited for the update?

Yes the purchase was worh it, my BB was getting old, though I stated above I miss a few things that the BB has and the Iphone does not. The Iphone is a good phone I just need to get over that learning curve after having a BB for the past six years. Waiting no..If the Iphone 5 comes out on it's regularly scheduled time I would consider it.

Yes...like Dixie said, I'd rather have great reception than same time surfing/data.

    2. Was it worth the purchase or do you think you should have waited for the update?

Totally worth it! I had a total of 4 HTC phones that I went thru because of issues (3 Eris & 1 Incredible), and the iPhone blows them out of the water! It doesn't freeze or randomly reset itself, no dropped calls, and I had ton of apps from my iPod Touch that I could put on my phone that I liked better than the comparable Android apps.

I prefer VZW over AT&T so yeah, I'm happy. I don't need talk & browse at the same time.

    2. Was it worth the purchase or do you think you should have waited for the update?
It was worth it.. I still have an upgrade on my account (different line) so I can upgrade to iPhone 5 if I want!

I didn't come from AT&T, so I'm not really missing the data/talk feature, I've never had it. It would have been nice, but it wasn't a deal breaker.

    2. Was it worth the purchase or do you think you should have waited for the update?

It was worth it. My Droid Eris was dying and I needed to upgrade now. The iPhone 5 will be great, but I'm not convinced its going to be a giant leap from the iPhone 4. It'll probably have the A5 chip, a larger screen, and a few more megapixels on the camera. I don't think we'll see 4G until the iPhone 6. Plus if I waited until the summer I would have had to up my contract with a tiered data plan. Getting the iPhone 4 now means another two years of unlimited data. So no buyers remorse for me, and I don't think I'll have any come June either.

1st: I love this phone. Apples emphasis on user experience has been highly underestimated by myself.

However theres def a reason why this phone had been delayed a release for 2.5 years.

    1. Whenever I sync this thing to my car, the sound will be gone forever if I put it on mute, until I reset of course.

    2. I guess it goes without saying: CDMA phone batteries dont last long at all. I've never gone a day without this battery being in the red.

    3. updates: this thing will always beslow on updates since the CDMA architecture (apparently) complicates everything. wheres 4.3???

Every other defect/complaint/bug is still existant in every other iphone so I wont bother going there. Otherwise, HOLY CRAP THIS THING IS AWESOME!
...its like if crack were in "phone" form @_@

Ok, been a huge Apple fan for a while. I own an original and an iPad 2, just got the latest MBP 15 and of course the ipods. Well, just got the new iPhone and have one issue. I hate the damn email notification bubble. Is there any way to turn that off. I have tons of emails and don't need to knowhow many I have popping up on my homescreen.

    I'd appreciate any help.

Love it a lot!!! Couldn't believe that I contemplated buying the Thunderbolt instead of the iPhone4. What I tell everyone is that it just simply works like you would expect it to. My Storm2 used to get locked up all the time so it was really frustrating at times to even make or answer a call. We buy phones to have a phone that works on us all the other stuff is extras, but if the extras cause the basic phone function to work, what good is the phone. Thanks Apple for making a quality product to set the standard that the other manufacturers should learn from!

I am a Verizon customer so I pre-ordered mine and received 4 days later.
