Emoji Characters

Has anyone been able to get the Emoji to work from a Verizon iPhone?

A friend just got a VZW iphone and I was able to install the emoji keyboard on it. She can receive emoji from me and she can see them on her phone when sending but when I receive her message containing any emoji characters on my AT&T phone I get a bunch of junk characters instead.

Is there a problem with sending emoji from Verizon iPhones?

I've had her send to another AT&T iPhone user and they also got the same junk characters instead of the emoji characters.

There's a known issue with this right now. Hopefully it gets cleared up soon.
