As I use an ASUS motherboard I often visit their site to check for updates etc. While there yesterday I stumbled across a small ASUS program that permitted an iPhone/iPad to charge from a PC's USB port at full power I.E. 1000mW instead of the standard 500mW. Thus enabling a charge time roughly the same as the mains charger.
I have tried it and it does seem to work, but was wondering, does it do any harm to my PC or iPhone? I have no idea how it works, but it does.
The program is called AI Charger, currently at build v1.00.06
It can also be used on other manufacturers M/B too (but not all).
Has anyone used this and what are your feelings about it?
