I am about to purchase a new Mac. I currently back my iPhone 4 up on a PC and want to move my iTunes library and iPhone backups to the new Mac. I have not been able to find the solution by searching Apple's site or by searching the forums here. Any suggestions?

I cheated when I got my Mac - mostly cause I was out of town and didn't want to wait until I got home. I got Senuti to copy my music/videos from my iPhone to my Mac, and then just used the iTunes option to Transfer Purchases (under File) to get all my apps over.

I believe Senuti will transfer your playlists as well, but I'm not 100% sure as I don't use any playlists.

When you start up your new Mac there should be a pop up that asks if you want to migrate all OD your options and info from another computer. At least that is how it used to work.

This may help. Do a search for "migration assistant"

I used the home sharing in iTunes to transfer my iTunes library from my pc to my new Mac. I did not worry about the iPhone backups. I just create a fresh one on the Mac.

Simply take the iTunes folder on your old computer & transfer and replace it to your new one. That's what I did & what Apple's one on one showed me to do.
