disappearing mms photos

hi everyone!

so, i was sitting at lunch today tooling around with my phone.. when i went to send a friend a text, and then realized that all of the last MMS pictures i had received were missing. as i went back in the message history, every single mms photo from and to my friend were gone! all that was there in its place was a blue arrow thing. when selected, it opens a blank picture (black screen).

but only for him, no one else. has anyone had this happen? i did a quick google search, and there is a thread that someone started with the same issue on the apple support site, but no solution.

any ideas? i've tried the normal hard resets and all that.

i have had this occur as well.

does anyone have an explanation for this?

I recently saw this when I was looking back at pics a friend had previously texted me and now they're gone and I Have no idea where they went...??
