Ok, so yesterday I checked eligibility, it displayed a table, with 16GB / 32GB, and Before 2/18/2012 and after 2/18/2012. The prices were consistent with AT&T:

    Size/Before/After
    16GB/$599/$199
    32GB/$699/$299

Today, I read an article on USAtoday.com that said the non-upgrade price is $649/$749

So I went to Verizon's site, and now it just lists the lines, and says Eligible? No, eligible on 2/18/2012.

    So two questions.

    1. Do we know the non upgrade pricing? $25 over the max ETF seems excessive, but that is what AT&T does, let alone $75.
    2. Am I not even able to pay the full price now?

Oddly, I just checked Apple's site, used their link, and got the same table I did yesterday on Verizon, with the same $X99 pricing.

I'm hoping its not some crazy amount!

I thought it might be $499$599
    But the $599/$699 sounds right.

I would think it would be the same as AT&T.

Yup sounds right. Also the iPad is the same pricing as AT&T so no reason it would change.

what they're saying is that if you bought it, cancelled the service, paid the ETF, it would be 25$ cheaper than the 600 to just buy it... but there's always that first month of usage...?

and... where are you going to use it? All carriers now track "churn" and that has to factor in somehow, doesn't it?

The only problem with that is that if you sign up for a contract for a apple product (iPhone) and then cancel your contract you are required to return the device or you are billed full retail for the device. That will end up costing you much more than $575. ( there is a time frame that does not apply but don't remember what it is, I was thinking is was a number of months )
