Not in the same sense an AT&T iPhone is, or other Quad-band "world phones" are - there are some places where Verizon's CDMA phones will work - consult verizon's web site for further details.

You will be able to use the VZW iPhone in the US, Mexico, and Asia. There are no CDMA carriers in Europe.

Are there CDMA carriers in South America? When I was in Chile my BB Storm was fully functional

That's because the Storm is Global and the new Verizon IPhone is not global, I'm not getting a Verizon IPhone yet.

There is a CDMA carrier in Chile. Whether or not VZW has a roaming agreement with them or not, I don't know. You'd have to check with VZW.

Thanks for the replies. That is what I thought, but Verizon left that piece of information off of their FAQ (or I missed it).
