Oddly a few weeks ago my iPhone just started to get very slow. Every time I open a folder it takes 3 seconds, same with entering and leaving wiggle mode. I restart often. Any idea what the problem is?
I recently got a free app called system lite, which monitors your RAM usage and etc etc... I noticed that when apps run in the background including the ones that are supposed to disable themselves after whatever period of time were, and that cause some lag, so I periodically run the app to see how much of my RAM is in use... and close out apps accordingly... don't know if that will help
but your RAM could be in full usage and there also a battery tweak i guess you can do with that app supposed to improve battery life ?? not sure haven't tried it yet but hope this can help
I have the same issue on a 3GS and I was wondering if it's because of the jailbreak, though if you say you're not JB then I guess it isn't. I tried restarting the phone but it improves only slightly.
Out of curiosity, I timed it once: I have to tap & hold an icon for 11 seconds to start the wiggle; after I push the home button, 16 seconds to stop the wiggle. Compared to these values, the 2 seconds for entering a folder seem "reasonable". Are you experiencing the same kind of slowness?
"Closing" the apps (essentially a long list of recently used apps) didn't help at all. Restarting the phone actually does help, but only with the wiggling times. Now, since rearranging icons isn't really an everyday activity, I can live with the issue. However, 2 seconds for opening a folder is truly annoying.
Hold down BOTH buttons until you see an Apple logo (around 10 minutes)
Say what? All that does is reboot the phone. If your iPhone is taking 10 minutes to reboot, you have issues. Holding that combination takes about 10 seconds before it reboots and the reboot itself is 1 minute or so. Again, you might want to check your phone for issues.
