I had a problem that I mentioned here 'http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum/iphone-3gs/video-controls-not-working-from-home-screen-after-upgrade-to-latest-version-of-os-81163.html'. However, I am not able to workout a solution and this is a problem with the iphone 4.2 ios. I wanted to downgrade my os to 4.1. I downloaded the 4.1 os and shift clicked on restore after putting the iphone in DFU mode. I got the 3194 error. Based upon some forum discussions I made the following entries to my hosts file as administrator.
74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
and also tried
74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
but unfortunately i still receive the same error 3194 and I am unable to downgrade. Can anyone tell me if apple allows one to downgrade the os? If so any ideas why I am receiving the 3194 error?
