heres the problem, i received a replacement iPhone 4 (Refurbished) from apple on Thursday b/c of a busted Mic on my original I4. i have not been able to complete activation due to the wrong phone number showing up in iTunes when i plug in the iPhone. (Image attached below) I Cannot change the phone number manually.
my phone number is (912)71x-xxxx as you can see below the listed number is not my phone number.
even though the phone number is not right i tried inputting my billing zip and last 4 social, doesn't work.
i have tried having ATT replace the Sim card 3 times, has no effect on the issue.
i have restored in recovery mode and DFU mode, neither had any effect on my issue. i right clicked (using PC) on my iPhone and did not have the option to restore from backup. my only option was eject.
I called ATT (multiple times) to verify the right IMEI and Sim is on my account, still no change. ATT told me all my info is correct and they don't know what else to do then passed me off to Apple
Apple engineers are telling me its an ATT "activation server" error and are trying to get it fixed for me but its been two days without my phone so i'm losing my confidence in them.
so any ideas how to get the right phone number to show or circumvent this process altogether?
