    Hi guys,

I'm having a problem with my iPhone 4, the photos I take inside my apartment are extremely yellow. It looks like I have a pee filter on the lens. -_-

The 3GS took pictures fine in my apartment without adding yellow, so I know it's not the lighting or lack-thereof..

    iPhone 3GS

    iPhone 4

Any idea what's causing this? Could it be fixed by software? Any good free editing apps which realistically change colour saturation and hue?

    Thanks in advance.

Do you have a case on your 4?

It's an issue with the white-balance trying to auto correct. U can use Photoshop or iPhoto to fix the pics.

Nope. It works fine outside but in my apartment it just wants to turn everything yellow. My lights are white, too :P..

Of course I could use Photoshop to correct it but that's kind of silly. Going into photoshop to fix a phone photo before I upload it to FaceBook, when I could've done that in 5 seconds on the 3GS with no fixing required? :P

A whole lot of fuss for an issue that shouldn't exist.. :P I hope Apple fixes this...

Try changing out the light bulbs in that room to some with a different wavelength. I know that things tend to look different in florescent light. Maybe the iPhone's light sensors for the camera are overly sensitive to certain wavelengths.

Well Jello, I feel bad for ya. You seem to be having all sorts of issues. First the death grip, now this. Sorry buddy. Anyway, try the lighting thing mentioned above. The sensor on the iPhone 4 collects way more photons so that is most likely a valid fix.

This is a somewhat common issue with the white balance. I get it at times too. Crazy.

My walls are whiter than eggshell. It's weird that my phone makes them yellow.

It's the white balance in the 4. It could be changed via software but who knows if apple will change it. In natural light the photos are better than the 3GS IMO, internal light is a whole different subject though. Take a picture of a lure white item in internal lighting and it will have a blue hue.

They've gotta fix something in the camera anyway, whatever is causing that giant green dot in the middle of photos...

Somehow I missed that one. I have not noticed these issues but now that I am aware of them I'm sure I'll be looking. I do not have fluorescent lighting in my home (hate how the lights look) but at work I'm sure I'll notice it (but then again I'm nit supposed to be using my phone at work, safety hazard)

Never had this problem. But I have heard that fixing it by water is the best solution. its a glue issue
