This is a question about Maps in ios4.

The arrow in the bottom left corner of Maps is used to locate where you are. Push it a second time and a little triangle comes up on the blue dot and the orientation of the screen changes.

Can someone tell me what this is?

    Thanks!

I believe when you do that it orientates you with true north. However I could be wrong.

Check that, it just shows which way you are facing. Find a point of reference and when you turn see if the arrow is facing it.

That's pretty sweet. This is something the map application has needed for a long time.

That feature isnt new. it came with OS 3.0 update !

The only new thing with map is the cross hair circle being replaced by an arrow

It only works on 3Gs & 4 though as it uses the compass.
