New + Questions (Sim + Power Button won't work)

Just introducing myself. I live in lower Ontario. I used to run a computer/console gaming centre but sold it and now only do repairs.

Just a quick question to anyone that may have an answer (And I hope this is in the right section). I just replace the lens/digitizer/LCD on an iphone 3g, everything worked fine before, but now all of a sudden the SIM wont read and the power button is non functional. I've repaired dozens of these without any issues at all, In general, I know what I'm doing. Could it possibly be a software issue?

Anyone? The Sim Doesn't Read, The headphones won't work, and the Power/Sleep button does nothing. Are these three on one ribbon cable that may need to be replaced?

It doesn't sound like a software issue. Unfortunately not many of us here have too much experience in the guts of the iPhones.
