an "error" occurred?!?!?

omg, this is driving me nuts. i backed up my 3G this morning. got my iPhone 4 today. went to restore from backup. wait for it to finish. then get "iTunes could not restore the iPhone " " because an error occured". WTF!!??? I've looked everywhere. someone please help before this phone winds up on "will it blend"

Having the same problem. Called Apple and they said to uninstall and reinstall iTunes. Apparently there is a specific order in which to uninstall 6 programs and he is emailing me that. If it works i will let you know.

but if u uninstall then reinstall itunes, wont u lose the backup from which ur trying to restore?

Apparently not if you tell it not to sync when you reconnect the device. He said that once you reconnect you tell it not to sync and then you right click on "Bob's iPhone" or whetever and it has the option to restore from backup and he says it will pick up where it left off. I am on Windows XP so you may need to do something else.

He sent me the list. Nave removed the programs and about to reinstall. I will let you know.
