The iPhone4 will have a videochat app called "Face Time". But there is no iChat for iOS yet, sadly.

There are however 3rd party alternatives, like AIM. (Unfortunately it'll cost you, unless you like ads)

There are a lot of free messengers for the iPhone, AIM, Yahoo, Windows Messenger, Trillian, IM+, Bejive, some of them you have to pay for, but they will allow you to have full access to all the chat services in a single user interface! My favorite is IM+ and I suspect it will be iOS4 updated pretty quickly. Trillian is sort of a plan jane all in one IM program, but it will likely be months before they upgrade to iOS4.

Also try Knock live.. It's pretty cool.. No sound but all you gotta do is call the person then open up the app..

Nope. They have an upcoming chat like service called face-time, but it is video calling. iChat was all rumours.
