When you update, does it erase all of your text messages?

No. If you restore and don't restore from backup, then yes. If I am wrong, someone correct me. I am pretty sure I am right.

If you restore from backup, text messages are restored as well. Or at least mine were.

I had dl the OS4GM version last nite. will i need to dl the os4 that was released today? i tried to check for an update but it says i have the latest version?

Is there a difference from the GM version vs released version?

if so, what are the steps to obtaining the latest version released..

    Thanks

You shouldn't, but backup is slow as usual. Delete any unnecessary apps before updating.
