iPhone 4 pushed back to July 14th in UK too
By Chris Davies June 18 ,2010

Up until yesterday, iPhone 4 buyers in the UK who are paying for full, unlocked and SIM-free handsets at unsubsidized prices could still expect their new toy to arrive by July 2nd, despite the US Apple store pushing deliveries back until July 14th. It now seems that UK demand has caught up (or Apples stocks have suitably dwindled) with the UK Apple store now listing the same July 14th estimate as its US counterpart.

That means that, if UK would-be iPhone 4 owners want their handset on June 24th when early-bird preorder customers will be getting them, theyll need to brave their nearest bricks & mortar Apple Store or carrier partner to see if they have any in stock. Currently O2, Orange and Vodafone UK have all announced pricing for the iPhone 4, though T-Mobile and Tesco Mobile have confirmed they will be offering the new smartphone.

These push-backs are scaring me. What is this going to mean for those of us in the second group of countries.

Next year I'm betting Apple is going to quadruple their manufacturing, outsource to more plants, etc... The problem is that most plants are not going to be as reliable as Foxconn (as bad as it is, it's the best in China).

I'm expecting it end of Aug-beginning of Sept here. They were calling for late July like around the 20th so 1 month would be Aug. 20th if I'm wrong and it's earlier I can handle that.

Received email today from O2 uk stating that until the end of July only exisitng customes will be able to purchase the iphone from them. Went in store yesterday to ask about pre-order and its first come, first served come 24th... I really want a 32gb white but I also just really want the iphone 4!!!! Think it will depend on whether I'll be lucky on the 24th

Yea I am in the US , but was also wondering how all this is going to play out in all the second group of countries.. Only time will tell ..

I agree with you about Apple pumping up thier manufacturing big time ( from this point on).. The demand for Apple products is on the rise like its never been before , and i dont see this slowing down anytime in the near future ..
