I just wasn't sure if this was allowed since Apple has different rules than a lot of phones.

I'm not eligible for a full upgrade. I'm eligible for a discounted upgrade, which means I would get the 16GB for $399. And honestly, I didn't care to pay it, because I want the phone so badly. However, I had a thought. I promised my daughter she could have a phone for her 13th birthday, which is in six months. So my question is, can I add a line and use it to get the iphone for the $199 price, but then when I go pick up the phone, have it activated on my line? Then, give my daughter a phone to use on her line when the time comes? (I may just go ahead and give her a phone if that's the case!) =)

I figured, if I could activate as a new line on the account and save $200, it would technically only cost me $60 ($10 a month) for that extra line, so I'd save $140 dollars. However, if I go ahead and give her a phone, then the money's not wasted at all! So if anyone could help me out and let me know if I can purchase it by adding a line, then activating it on my own line, I'd appreciate it!

BTW, I reserved an iPhone at an Apple store through the new App in about two seconds. Makes me a little nervous though - if it's just "reserved" and not "pre-ordered" am I still guaranteed to get one on launch day? And do I get in the "Pre-order" line at the Apple store, or is there a separate line for "reserved"?

I did this last year. Now I have a phone that is eligible for upgrade every year.
