Question about activating a new iPhone 4 preorder?

If I preorder the iPhone 4 from At&t and it is shipped to my home. How do you activate it?

With my 3g, all I needed to do was connect the iPhone to my mac to complete the activation through iTunes. I am pretty sure it would be the same case for the iPhone 4g.
